Renshaw Davies

New roots acoustic duo, Renshaw Davies consist of guitarist John Renshaw and vocalist Emily Davies. The duo’s early music began as more plotting, melancholy, folk ballads, but has since evolved into peppier, harmony driven music with light percussions. With John playing acoustic guitar and Emily Davies bringing vocals and percussion to the mix, they have become one of New Orleans hottest young up and coming bands. Renshaw Davies was formed in 2012, after the two met one another at the Neutral Ground Coffeehouse. John had recently moved back to New Orleans and had been looking to break through musically at the Neutral Ground. Emily, having visited the city many times before, had decided to make the move for music career and became a frequent act of the Neutral Ground’s Open Mic Sundays. Soon after moving to New Orleans, the two met one another and as John says “The rest is history”. Since forming, the group has released a vinyl with the songs “Goin’ Down the Road” and “Auctioneer”. Renshaw Davies recently finished touring cities in Southern and Eastern U.S. and is working on a new album that will be produced under Bear America Records with Chad Carson producing. Always striving to improve their work, the two remain based in New Orleans for it’s ever changing musical landscape and competitive nature.
